Make an Appointment: For Patients
The transplantation process at Mass General begins when a physician refers a patient to a specialist on our transplant team. If your physician refers you to our service, the Transplant Center nurse coordinator will set up appointments for you with specialists on the transplant team. The purpose of these appointments is to evaluate whether transplantation is an appropriate treatment for you.
Referring Patients to the Transplant Center: For Physicians
Transplant Center specialists evaluate potential transplantation patients (including pretransplant preparation and bridging), perform surgery and provide comprehensive posttransplant care, including immunosuppressive management, prevention of infectious disease, medical management and full complement of psychosocial care.
When referring a patient to the Transplant Center, please provide a letter of introduction or summary, patient history and physical information, current medications, X-rays and diagnosis-specific test results.
